TYKE

 

The Carpet One Tyke Major Jr Bulls had double victories in exhibition play this week. Monday night they travelled to Tweed fora match against the Hawks.The Jr Bulls won the game against the Hawks with a score of 5-2.

The scoreboard saw Goals from Griffin Leveque, Riley St Pierre 2, Joe Bardwell with an unasisted goal, and Dakota De Genova, helpers were provided by Tessa Rushlow, Ethan Parliment 2,

Dakota De Genova and Cayde Culhane.. In the net for the Tykes sharing the duties with solid performances were Scott Fleming, and Ethan Fraser.

 

The Carpet One Tyke Major Jr Bulls also played theCampbellford Colts Novice B team on Wed night and came out on top with a score of 3-2.

Goals scored by Ethan Parliment, Riley St Pierre, and Joe Bardwell. Helpers went to Riley St Pierre, Dakota De Genova, Griffin Leveque, Cayde Culhane and Damian Hallum. Goaltenders

Ethan Fraser and Scott Fleming solid between the pipes for the Bulls.

 

NOVICE

The Steinburg Dentist Novice AE team made waves in the Campbellford tournament on Jan. 9, 2010 - they were "A" Runners Up. To make it to the finals, they won their first game 4-1 against the Napanee Stars, they shut out Port Hope 3-0 in their second game and they lost the "A" finals to Kingston. Belleville goals came from Chris Keller, Austin Boyd, Will Smith, Rhys Lawday, Blake Bush and Mac Boomhower. Goaltending duties were shared by Ben Orr and Mark Rosatte. MVP of the tournament for the Bulls was Zack Goodfellow.

 

The next day - following the exhausting tournament, the team had an excited game in Oshawa. They played hard and fought until the end andlost 4-3. Two goals came from Chris Keller and one came Blake Bush.

 

Over the past weekend, The Steinburg Dentist Novice AE team had double header in Uxbridge. They were defeated 9-1 in the first game - with Will Smith getting the lone goal and they lost 3-0 in a well played second game.

 

ATOM

The Four Seasons Sports Minor Atom 'A' team secured first place in theiropeninground robin series of theOMHA playdowns with two wins over Kingston. On Thursday night the Jr. Bulls won at home 6 to 2 withRyan Rushlow earning the winin net.Goal scorers wereWill Bardwell, Owen Dever, Braydan Forestell and Regan Fleming with helpers from Angelo Brown, Ryan Milligan, Graeme Smith, Mark Mulder, Parker Brown, Forestell and Bardwell. On Friday night, goals from Cole St. Pierre, Forestell, A. Brown andDever helpthe Jr. Bulls earned a5 to1 victory in Kingston. Assits went to Theo Citrullo, Rorey Kehoe, St. Pierre, and Smith with Isaac Bridges getting the win in net. The team now advances to the second round of the OMHA playdowns.

 

 

The Ray Bros Construction Minor Atom AE Jr Bulls team fought a tough battle in the Liftlock Tournament in Peterborough this past weekend. Friday 15 Jan/10 they met the Stone Mills Sabres and tied 3-3. Goals scored by Nickolas Rittwage,Ian Chapelle, and Patrick French. Assists to Fraser Moodey, Joshua Henderson, Kaylen McCormack, Campbell Fair, and Tyler Gordon. Second game was played on Saturday 16 Jan/10 against the Woodville Hurricanes, and although the team fought hard, they lost 13-3. Goals scored by Tyler Gordon, Carson Waite, and Brady Potter. Assist credited to Kaylen McCormack. Finally, Saturday afternoon they met the Russell River Rats losing 10-1 with goal scored by Joshua Kyte unassisted. Both goalies, Aiden Brownlee and Luis Dennison, worked hard in all games.

The Ray Bros Construction Minor Atom AE Jr Bulls team played game 1 of 5 in Ajax in play off action on Wednesday 13 Jan/10 sacking a fantastic win 6-3. Goals scored by Carson Waite, Brady Potter, Gavin McQuaid, and Tyler Gordon (3). Assists go to Kaylen McCormack (2), Josh Henderson, Ethan Green, Patrick French, Nickolas Rittwage, Campbell Fair, and Josh Kyte. Terrific goal tending by Luis Dennison. Excellent way to start the play-offs boys!!

The Parkside Landscaping Major AtomA team were off to a good start this weekend for their first game of the playoffs with a pep talk from a fewOHL Bulls players whohad beenout practising.The Jr. Bulls out shot Clarington by a wide margin and won their home game on Saturday2-1. Scoring for the Bulls were Cole King and Mitchell Whitley.Assistswent to Rylan Levean, Cameron Hale-Sanders, Jake Hale-Sanders, Jack Belanger with AlexVan Rooy in net. On Sunday's road game, the Jr. Bulls ended their 2nd game in the playoffs against Clarington with a tie. The game went into10-minutes of overtime with neither team able to score. Scoring for the Bulls were Riley McMillan and Jack Belanger. Assists went to Spencer Goodfellow and Jordy Grigoriou with Blake Freitagin net.

 

PEEWEE

Tal Trees Minor Pee Wee A Lost the opening two games of their playoff series with Uxbridge by scores of 4-2 and 5-0. Splitting goaltending duties were BrockPrescott and Nick Boutilier. Both goals were scored by Shaw Boomhower, with assists to Brayden White and Justin Lewis.

BANTAM

The McDougall Insurance Midget Minor A Bulls got off to a great start in their first round of playdowns, leading Oshawa 2-0 in their best of 5 series. In Game One Belleville defeated Oshawa 4-1 at home on goals by Matt McDougall, Cole Larsen, Derek Stoliker and Paul Buckley. Assisting
were Mitchell Smith (2), Dakota Mahar, Shawn Dinnery-Peeling, Daniel London and Buckley. Brodie McGinnis was outstanding in net for the win. The Bulls were again victorious in Game Two in Oshawa winning 2-1. Scoring for the Bulls were Cullen McGrath and Jared Boomhower, assisted by Greg Massicotte, Smith and Dinnery-Peeling. Nick Nunn was superb in net.

 

The Carpet One Major Bantam AE Jr. Bulls lost 3-1 and 5-2 on the weekend in first round playoffs games. Scoring for Belleville in game one was Connor Stone, and in game two, Nick Eliopoulos and Mike Evans. All goals were unassisted. Both Riley Sampson and Corey McMurter played solid games in net against a strong Ajax team.

The Wilson Sports Bantam Major'A' Belleville Jr. Bulls faced the Pickering Panthers this past weekend in the first round of the playoffs. The Bulls are up 5 points to 1, but the games are closer than the points show.

In game 1 the Bulls required overtime to beat the Panthers 4 to 3. Colin Moore scored the winner from Patrick Fair. Other goal scorers were Fair (2) and Connor Cassidy. Assists going to Cassidy (2), Wade Little (2) and Moore. Danny Manning was steady between the pipes.

The second game saw the Bulls travel to Pickering and skate away with a 4 to 2 victory. Bulls sharp shooters were Drew Scott, Joey Thompson, Jarrod Pulver and Cassidy. Playmakers were Pulver (2), Little (2), Scott (2), Thompson and Moore. Eric Wells was solid between the pipes.

The third game in three nights saw the teams skate to a 2-2 tie. Jack Garrow scored late in the third period to tie the game. Bulls other goal was scored by Scott in the first period. Assists went to Cassidy, Pulver, Thompson and Kyle Foley. Manning was solid in net.

 

MIDGET

The ITS Midget "A" Jr Bulls jumped out to a 2-0 lead in their playoff matchup with Clarington over the weekend with scores of 3-2(OT) and 6-2. Saturday at home, the Bulls came out flat and got behind the visitors until Dylan Murray from Evan Greer and Jordan Cormier tied things up. However, the Bulls still didn't get moving and went down again early in the 3rd. Things looked bleak for the Midgets until Tyler Diamond ripped a slapshot by the helpless Toros keeper with under 2 min to go in the game. Finally the Bulls had something to cheer about and caught a 2nd wind. In OT, Dante Riganelli picked up a loose puck and ripped a wrister past the Toros goalie totake thegame 3-2. Assists on the last 2 goals went to Murray and Cormier with 2 each.

Sunday the ITS Bulls travelled to Clarington for game 2 shorthanded and came away with a convincing 6-2 win. Bulls dominated every aspect of the game with goals coming from Dante Riganelli with a natural hat trick, Evan Greer(2), and David Lytle. Assists were credited to Adam Finley(2), Greer, Tyler Lobb, Andrew Gnagnarella, and Mike Joyce. Gnagnarella took both wins in net. Next game for the ITS Jr Bulls is Friday at 9pm at Yardmen.
