Belleville Minor Hockey - Shriners Tournament
2011 Rules
1. Any player receiving a five
minute fighting Major or Match penalty will be ineligible for any further
tournament play.
2. All games will be 1 x 10 and
2 x 15 min period. Each team will be guaranteed three games minimum.
3. Teams must be ready to play
(15) minutes before designated game starting times and will get a three minute
warm up. Handshakes before the game.
4. Run time will be applied in
the third period if the goal differential becomes five. It will revert back to
stop time if the goal differential becomes three.

6. Floods will take place at
the end of each game. Players may not enter the ice surface until zamboni doors
are shut.
7.
In the event of a tie the following procedure will be followed in this order:
1. The results of the games
between the teams involved will determine a winner (head to head).
2. Divide the goals for by the
total goals for and against. The teams with the highest percentage will
prevail.
3. The team that scored the first goal of the game
between the two tied teams.
4. The team with the least amount of penalty minutes
will be declared the winner.
5. The team who scored the earliest goal in their game
will be declared the winner
6.
Flipping a coin.
8. A three man official system
will be used for all Bantam games. Two man system for Pee Wee Minor.
9. In the event of a tie at the
end of regulation time during Sunday’s playoffs, a five minute sudden victory
will be played, starting with four players plus goalie per side. Line changes
can only be made on the fly, not on the whistles. Players will be added in the
event of a penalty. If still tied after five minutes, we go to three on three
for five minutes, then a sudden death shoot out.
10. One 30 second timeout per
team will be permitted during the finals only.
11. Championship and finalist
awards will be given to all declared players and up to four staff members.
12. All teams MUST bring an
approved roster to the tournament and register at Tournament Desk.
13. The Tournament Committee
reserves the right to render final decisions regarding rules protest and
objections, and any other matter that may arise.
14. Players line up after the
game on the blue line for MVP assignment. Opposition Coach assists tournament
convenor to declare opposing teams MVP.
