Want to be an Official....
OMHA Referee Schools
Overview
The extremely successful and popular school format provides new and less experienced Officials with an opportunity to acquire officiating skills and rule knowledge while completing OMHA and Hockey Canada certification requirements. The intensive, action-packed agenda features classroom instruction including audiovisual presentations, as well as on-ice training.
In operation since 1995, this year the Guelph School celebrates its 17th year. The school program now encompasses 3 locations across the OMHA West -Windsor (10th edition), Central - Guelph and East - Trenton (7th edition). The schools have grown to the point where they now attract officials from across the province and the United States.
School Objectives:
To teach the methods and procedures of officiating in both the 2 and 3 official systems.
To instruct uniform interpretation of the rules.
To provide each official with on-ice sessions to acquaint them with the duties of the referee and linesmen.
To provide each official with an opportunity to improve overall officiating performance.
