Just wanted to extend a big thanks to all who
helped out with the Skates for Kids event last Saturday. You did a great
job collecting skates - over 100 were collected by our team, The Adventure
Class and BMHA.
The Intelligencer, OJ 95.5, Mix 97, Cogeco, BMHA and
Belleville Bearcats all helped publicize the event. Also, a special
thanks to the Morrison's and Domino's for providing pizza for the crew.
Thanks to the players, over forty people (big and
small) were outfitted with skates on Saturday. The skates that are left
will also find homes - following a similar event in 2008, Sheryl was able
to outfit two classes with skates, and as word circulated, people came to see her
for the next two years to get skates.
Thanks to your efforts, a whole bunch of people who
may not ever have had their own skates now have a pair, and there will be more
in the future.

Davis Maschi was on fire as he led the Wilson Sports
Minor Midget Belleville Jr bulls to a 5-1 win over Oshawa. Maschi had the natural HAT-RICK in Sundays
win with 3 goals in under 6 minutes during the first period (2 on the same
double minor power play). Jimmy Corrigan
and Liam Clarey had the other Goals. Riley Parker,
Alex Windsor, Liam Hayes(2), Curtis Murray, and Maschi all had assists. Josh Morrison was between the pipes for the
win. On Saturday Belleville had to
settle for a 1-1 tied as Cobourg finally beat Belleville goaltender Austin
Lalonde with no time left on the clock in the third period. It was heartbreaking
for the Minor Midgets who put in an incredible team effort and deserved a better
fate. Jimmy Corrigan scored for Belleville with Windsor and Keagan Leal getting
the assists.
The Wilson Sports Minor Midget A's Beat Cobourg 3-2. Davis Maschi had 2 goals with Austin Cooper getting the other. Assists went to Jimmy Corrigan, Wyatt Asselstine, Maschi and Alex Windsor. Austin Lalonde was in net for the win. Belleville tied first place Uxbridge 1-1 with Mitchell Burke getting the tying goal late in the third period with Dakota Alexander getting the assist. josh Morrison was in net for the tie. Belleville finished of the week with a tough 2-0 loss to Lindsay.
The Wilson Sports Minor Midget A's lost 2-1 in a shoot-out to Mount Brydges in quarter finals of the Grimsby Midget Fall Classic this past weekend. Austin Cooper scored the lone goal for Belleville in regulation with Dakota Alexander getting an assist. Davis Maschi and Jimmy Corrigan each had a goal in the shoot-out. In round robin play Belleville topped Georgetown 4-3 with goals coming from Alexander (2), Riley Parker, and Mitchell burke. Maschi (2), Corrigan, Wyatt Asselstine and Alex Windsor had assists. In a 3-1 win over Quinte West, Michael McFarlane, Ryan McMahon and Liam Hayes had the goals with assist coming from McMahon, Keegan Leal, Asselstine, Curtis Murray and Parker. Goaltenders, Josh Morrison and Austin Lalonde each had a win in the tournament.
