The Board of Directors of the Belleville Minor Hockey
Association (BMHA) would like to take this opportunity to provide the following
formal announcement regarding our Centre Classification.
BMHA has been reclassified
as a "AA” Centre which will take effect in the 2012-2013 hockey season.
After receiving notice of this change of Category in the
late summer of 2011, the Board decided to submit a formal appeal to this
decision by the December deadline as per OMHA requirements. Our appeal was based on many factors
including the historical results of our various rep teams in terms of league
success. In addition, we made the points
of declining enrolment coupled with our smaller population base as compared to
other "AA” centres.
We received notice of denial of our appeal in the week of
March 19th, 2012.
The BMHA Board met on Saturday March 24th to
discuss the various ramifications and further options. We could choose to support our "AA” teams

The Impacto Tyke House League Junior Bulls went in to this past weekend’s Centre Hastings One Day Tournament full of optimism. Impacto came out strong and controlled much of the play, but despite firing an
incredible barrage of shots, and goals coming from Carter Leveque (2)
and Jack Dever (1) with helpers coming
from Adam Toop, Micheal Moreau, Owen Skinner, Carson Smith, Thomas Galvin and Ty Foley, Tweed's Goalie was too strong and they were beat 4-3. Jay Solomon was
great in net for the Bulls.
Game Two of the tournament saw the Impacto Junior Bulls face the East

Impacto Junior Bull’s skated hard but
couldn’t overcome the organized play of
their opponents. Carson Smith

It took the Al White squad only a minute to score their first goal of the tournament en route to a 5-0 victory over the Flamborough Sabres. Their next opponent, Hamilton put up a valiant fight for one period before Belleville wore them down posting another 5-0 victory. Two convincing victories gave the Jr. Bulls a bye through the quarter finals and into the semis where as luck would have it they would once again meet Hamilton. The Spitfires were out for revenge, but it was not to be had as the Jr. Bulls once again outskated, outscored and outdefended their opponents to win 5-0. The final games saw the St. Catharines Hurricanes, also undefeated up against our own Jr.
